Indigestion is a stomach problem that may be referred to as dyspepsia. Stomach acid reflux is what causes indigestion or heartburn. The oesophagus may be irritated and it can leave the mouth bitter or sour tasting.

Indigestion Symptoms

There are several symptoms of indigestion. They include bloating, nausea, stomach pain, heartburn, burping, acid regurgitation, and flatulence.

 

Indigestion Causes

Indigestion has many causes. It may be caused by heavy meals, eating without chewing enough, smoking, too much alcohol, pregnancy, stress, peptic ulcer, anxiety, lifestyle changes, anti-inflammatory drugs, and digestive organ diseases.

Remedies for acid indigestion

The best way to prevent acid indigestion is to put cider vinegar in a glass of water or some lemon juice and drink it before eating.

Other Remedies
Another remedy that works is to place a couple of drops of mint essence in a glass of water and drink it every few hours. It also helps to massage your stomach with garlic oil and soya oil. Digestion may be promoted after a meal with ginger tea. Indigestion may be helped with a mixture of raspberry, blackberry, chamomile, and mint. Mix equal parts of honey and lemon juice to help with indigestion. Instant relief may be found by added a couple of teaspoons of baking soda to water and drinking it.

Indigestion Diet

The best way to avoid indigestion is to eat smaller meals more frequently. Drink herbal tea and drink more water. Don’t drink alcoholic beverages and stop smoking. Avoid coffee, tea, and other caffeinated beverages. You will also want to avoid fatty, hot, and spicy foods, and reduce the amount of chocolate you eat.

Other Suggestions for Indigestion

Don’t wear tight clothing and walk at least half an hour every day. You will also want to relax daily and reduce your stress level. After a meal give yourself some time to relax before engaging in physical activity. Also, make sure you eat regular meals, chew properly, and get regular exercise.
