what are the possible solutions if i have a swolen varicose veins? do i have to undergo surgery?

I had deep vein thrombosis in 2001. I am on .81 aspirin daily and things are mainly good. I now have a swollen varicose vein in the top part of my right thigh. Is this vein in danger of developing into another DVT?
